( Trudno jest zrobić aktualne, bo siedzą teraz na innej platformie w trzcinach, a ja nie jestem biegła w fotografowaniu żółwi )
These images have been taking a year ago, but I was far from sure whether they might survive polish winter. I didn`t want to publish it before I will see them alive. Luckily, everything is all right now! ( Otherwise is much more difficult to capture them, due to they are spending time on another platform, hidden into bulrush, and I am not proficient in a turtles photoshooting).
To są żółwie czerwonolice z Ameryki Północnej. Ktoś je wpuścił do stawu. Rok temu był o nich artykuł w lokalnej gazecie i wywiady z wetem i profesorem biologii. Oni mówili, że te żółwie na pewno nie przeżyją zimy w Polsce.
They are sea turtles named Red- eared slider, from North America. Someone has put them to this pond. Last year was an article on them in local newspaper and an interviews with a vet and a biologist from the university. They both said that these turtles cannot survive winter in Poland.
Rok temu widziałam trzy, jeden to chyba już dziecko, bo sporo mniejszy. W tym roku są cztery, dziecko jest już większe i siedzi oddzielnie, ale widziałam też bardzo malutkiego czwartego, który siedział z rodzicami.
Last summer I saw three turtles, and one looked like a baby, much smaller one. This year the number of turtles is even four, baby is bigger and likes to be alone, but I saw also very small fourth one, who was sitting with the parents.
Sąsiedzi mówili mi, że tak naprawdę to te żółwie są tam już od kilku lat. Od kilku lat nie ma przecież regularnej zimy, ale jednak było to skute lodem dwa tygodnie i bałam się, że umarły.
Na początku kwietnia, w słoneczny dzień, zobaczyłam je znowu. Ludzie stali i patrzyli w zachwycie i zdumieniu i mówili: " One żyją! One żyją!". Ja też krzyczałam, razem z jakąś dziewczynką, a żółwie połyskiwały w słońcu.
My neighbors told me that they`re sure these turtles are living in the pond for a couple of years. We have not been experiencing normal, heavy winter here for a couple of years, indeed. Nevertheless, water in this pond had iced over for two weeks, so I was worrying all the time whether they died. When the April started, along with sunshine and warm weather, I have seen them again! People were standing there and starring at the turtles, and talking to each other: " They are alive! They are alive!". I was also screaming it, along with one small girl. And the turtles were glistening in the sun rays.
Czyli to wszytko bzdury, co mówią weci. Niestety, często mówią bzdury.
Thus, this was not true, what this vet has said. Sadly, it happens quite often.
