Mam kilka tych książek i wszystkie są stare, ale wbrew pozorom to stanowi ich zaletę. To są bardzo dobre książki, z których można się łatwo nauczyć wielu sekretów. Ja lubiłam szyć w dzieciństwie i jako nastolatka, więc to, co umiem, to są takie podstawy i mam nadzieję, że z pomocą tych książek rozwinę moje talenta ( o ile w ogóle mam coś takiego...)

I own several books about crocheting and sewing,  all old. Nevertheless, I think that it is an advantage, that the books are old. These books are very good, easy to learn a lot of secrets from them. As far as I am concerned, I had been liking to sew as a teenager, so I know some basic things. Right now I hope that the books will helpful for me, and my talent will flourishing ( if I have the talent, certainly)...

1. Heidi Fuchs, Maria Natter : " ABC szydełkowania" Muza S.A. W-wa 1992 ( " Crocheting ABC")

Ta książka ma też nowsze wydanie, wtedy to jest biała okładka z włóczką ciemnoniebieską... Mama mi ją dała, jak zresztą wszystkie, które tu są w tym poście. Jest łatwa w odbiorze, też dlatego, że jest w niej naprawdę bardzo dużo zdjęć. Jest mnóstwo ściegów, mnie najbardziej zainteresował ścieg muszelkowy, koronki irlandzkie, koronki z Brugii i szydełkowanie na widełkach.

This book has newer edition right now, the cover is white with  a dark indigo yarn... My mother gave me this book, all the books I am showing in this post I have from my mother, who was about to throw  out all of it to the recycling container! That book is easy to read, easy to understand  also because it contains a huge number of photos. Lot of stitches! I am mostly interested in a scallop , Irish laces, laces from Bruges, and how to crochet with the cradle...

2. Zofia Hanus "Jak szyć?" Watra Warszawa 1984 ( " How to sew?")

Jest to książka na pożółkłym już papierze, ma trochę rysunków, generalnie jest przydatna, część teoretyczna jest może trochę przestarzała, ale mnie osobiście część teoretyczna nie interesuje, a praktyczne rzeczy bardzo są dla mnie przydatne. Bardzo ładne są ilustracje, ja lubię takie z lat 80-tych. Ta książka dobrze pokazuje, że w tamtych czasach, o których uczy się dzieci, że były takie beznadziejne, tu w Polsce, jednak wiele rzeczy było na wyższym nieraz poziomie niż teraz. Nie wyrzucajcie nigdy takich starych książek, tam nieraz jest świetna zawartość!

The pages are yellow because of time, illustrations are included, I find this book useful in general. The  part on theory is maybe a bit old-schooled, but I'm not interested in theory. Things I was looking for are very useful to me. I have found here a lot of things I was in the need to know. The illustrations are very nice, in 80's style, which I like very much. This book I think is a good example for showing, that it is not  true, that in those past years, here in Poland, everything was creepy.  Here kiddos have learnt from school, that everything was creepy... The truth is that a lot of things, I am talking about everyday life issues, was on a higher level than today! So I tell you, please don't throw out your old books! You can find brilliant things inside.

3. Zofia Hanus "Kulisy kroju i szycia"  Watra Warszawa 1984 ( " Backstage of  cut and sewing")

Ta książka jest tej samej autorki, co poprzednia, jednak informacje się nie powtarzają. Tu jest wszystko, jak uszyć spódnicę, bluzkę, wszyć zamek błyskawiczny i takie tego typu... Papier jest kredowy, więc książka dzielnie znosi upływ czasu.

This also written by the author of the book above, although the informations are not the same. Here we can find everything about sewing a skirt or a shirt, how to implant a zip fastener and similar... The paper is  chalky, so the condition of the book is good, despite of  passage of time.

4) Jadwiga Turska "Hafty" WPL Warszawa 1967 ( " Embroidery")

Hafty zostawiam sobie jakoś na potem, kiedy już będę mistrzynią szycia i robótek. Ta książka jest najstarsza, i czego nigdy bym się nie spodziewała po książce z tego okresu, niektóre fragmenty są po angielsku ( tak!) i po rosyjsku też.

I want to start with it later, while I will quite good with sewing and knitting, and crocheting... This book is oldest among these here in the post, and, surprisingly, some parts of the text are also in English ( yes!) and in Russian too.

Ten kwiatek ma ładny kolor, ale właśnie niestety dzisiaj tak się przekrzywił i aktualnie poszukuję w domu jakiegoś patyczka czy czegoś, żeby go przywiązać i wyprostować. Lubię bardzo zapach hiacyntów i wydaje mi się, że wiosna jest bliżej, kiedy na niego patrzę.

This flower has beautiful colour, but unfortunately today I realised that  is growing crookedly and actually I am looking forward for some little stick or twig, because I want this flower to be straight. I like a lot a smell of hiacyntes, and I dream that spring is coming, whenever I look at this flower.

Pierniczki z gożdzikami i morelami i zakupy ubraniowe/Gingerbread cookies with cloves and apricots and also new clothes

Te pierniczki upiekłam dwa razy i wersja bez gożdzików jest moim zdaniem zdecydowanie bardziej smaczna. W przepisie są gożdziki, ale raz miałam wszystko oprócz nich, więc też upiekłam, i wtedy można wyczuć te suszone morele i w ogóle przyprawy, które gożdziki przytłumiają i czuje się wyłącznie gożdziki. Bardzo lubię gożdziki, ale nie w tych pierniczkach. Lubię też takie old-schoolowe ukręcanie za pomocą drewnianego czegoś, co jest podobne do kija baseballowego. Mam to od mamy, która przechowuje sporo rzeczy z poprzedniej epoki. Na nocne pieczenie to jest lepsze niż mikser.
I have made these gingerbread cookies two times, and I tell you, the version with no cloves is better. Much better! I think because while you add cloves, as you see in the recipe, that  strong aroma of cloves beats everything else. You cannot feel gorgeous dried apricots and the rest of the spices you should also  use. Once I had no cloves at home I decided to bake it with no cloves, simply! And it tastes much better! I like cloves in general but not this time. And I like also  the old-schooled, homely device, which is on the photo - I mean to say this wooden something, similar for baseball stick ( I don't know how to name it also in Polish, ha ha). This is very useful, if you want to bake during a nightime, like I always do. I have it from my Mom, who storages many things from the past era.

Oto, co potrzebne jest do ich sporządzenia, w chłodny, zimowy wieczór: 3/4 szklanki miodu, szklanka brązowego cukru, 5 dag masła ( ja daję klarowane), 2 jajka, 1/2 szklanki smażonej skórki pomarańczowej, 2 i 2/3 szklanki mąki pszennej, 3/4 szklanki  orzechów laskowych, 3/4 szklanki płatków migdałowych, ja dałam jeszcze suszone morele niesiarkowane, których nie ma w przepisie, 3 łyżki kakao, łyżka cynamonu, łyżeczka imbiru, 1/2 łyżeczki mielonych gożdzików ( polecam nie dawać), 3/4 łyżeczki soli, 1/2 łyżeczki proszku do pieczenia, 1/4 łyżeczki sody oczyszczonej

That is what you need to make this cookies, in cold, wintry evening: 3/4 glass of honey, glass of  cane sugar, 5dag butter ( I add clarified butter), 2 eggs, 1/2 glass  fried orange peel, 2 and 2/3 glass of wheat flour, 3/4 glass of hazelnuts, 3/4 glass of almond's slices, and I added also non-sulphured dried apricots, what is not from the recipe, 3 table spoons of cocoa, one table spoon of cinamonn, one tea spoon of ginger, 1/2 tea spoon of  dusty cloves ( I recommend not to add it) , 3/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/4 tea spoon of soda

Teraz jak je zrobić- przygotować mąkę orzechową, zmiksować mąkę z orzechami i przyprawami ( ja nie miksowałam, bo była noc, tylko wymieszałam to). W dużej misce ubić mikserem masło, miód i cukier na kremową masę ( też bez miksera utarłam to). Nadal ubijając dodawać po jednym jajku. Zmniejszyć obroty miksera i porcjami dodawać przygotowaną mąkę. ( Nie lubię mikserów, mam dwa, ale dodałam mąkę porcjami bez miksera). Na koniec dodać skórkę pomarańczową. Blachę wyłożyć papierem do pieczenia. Wilgotnymi rękami formować kulki, układać je na blasze i lekko spłaszczać. Piec ok. 15 min w piekarniku nagrzanym do 180C, następnie ostudzić. Można przybrać lukrem ( ale ja nie lubię lukru).

And here we go with the recipe: first we make the nut's flour, and in the recipe is to make this flour by using a food mixer, but I made it by my hands, because it was late in the night, so I did not want to break the silence. Butter, honey and cane sugar have to be whisked to a creamy consistency, in a bowl. Then, add one egg, and the second egg a moment later. ( I did it also by hands, but in the recipe is to use a mixer. I don't like using a mixer, I own two food mixers, but I rarely use them.) Add the nut's flour, which was done earlier, and mix it all. At last, add the fried orange peel. Arrange the sheet with parchement paper, and make small scoops, then flatten it slightly. Preheat the oven at 180C. Bake them about 15 min, then allow it to cool. You can glaze these cookies, but I do not like a glaze.

Te się trochę przypiekły, ale jeszcze nie na tyle, żeby nie były smaczne. ( Właśnie ja wyciągałam je z piekarnika o drugiej w nocy za pomocą tego widelczyka, bo w ogóle to nie mam zwyczaju nim jeść pierniczków). Bardzo lubię upiec sobie ciastka w środku nocy.
Look, those are a little bit burnt, but not much, and they remain very yummy. ( I had got them from the oven about 2:00 in the night with this small fork, but I'm not in the habit of eating a cookies in this way). I am a massive lover of a night baking.

Kupiłam sobie jakiś czas temu taką kurtkę i jestem zachwycona nią. Zobaczyłam ją w Auchan i nie miałam już pieniędzy, ale pojechałam tam następnego dnia i kupiłam ją. To niesamowite, ale ona kosztowała tylko 100 złotych  i to nawet nie była żadna przecena, tylko regularna cena. Ona jest bardzo ładna, ciepła i wygodna. ( Jeśli nie wiecie, po co ja mam takie pudełko - to jest na chrupki dla suczki, pod linkiem jest więcej o tym).
I purchased this jacket some time ago, and I must say I am in the rapture of it. I came across it in Auchan, but I had had not enough money. I had been wanting it much, and in the next day I went there and bought it. Amazing, that the price was only 100 zł, and it was even not a sale or anything - a regular price! This jacket is very nice, pretty, warm and comfy! ( If you wonder what the box in my hand is - look to the linked post, it is for treats for my dog)

Zamówiłam też spódnicę i pościel z katalogu z wyprzedażami Cellbes. Spódnica kosztowała 69 złotych i jestem bardzo zadowolona z niej, ona nie jest na zimę, więc na razie jej nie noszę. Pościel też kosztowała 69 i bardzo mi się podoba.
I had ordered also a long skirt and a bedding from Swedish store Cellbes, because they sent me the catalogue with the sale. The skirt costed me 69 zł and I am very glad of it, although it's not for wintertime, so I have been not wearing this skirt recently. The bedding costed also the same price 69 and I like it very much.
