Pyszna sałatka pasterska / Yummy shepherd's salad
Ja robiłam tę sałatkę kilka razy w lecie, i zawsze miałam ten ser oto poniżej przedstawiony.
This shepherd's salad recipe is taken from some old newspaper, which I saved some time ago. This salad is really gorgeous, but I think is important not to change the recipe at all. It must be a sheep cheese and it must be a red onion in it! If you get any other cheese or onion, it becomes much worse. I have been making this salad severally, and always with this sheep cheese you see on the display. It's from Bulgaria, I am purchasing this cheese at Carrefour. It costs about 12 zł, but sheep cheese always is more pricey than others. In this dish a sheep cheese is the key !
So, how to prepare this yummy salad? Firstly, you will need: one can of white bean, one red onion, sheep cheese 20dag, wild garlic ( I do recommend adding wild gralic), and also half of a salad, which here is called dębowa oak's, although in the recipe is to add a half of rzymska Roman salad. And 5 spoons of olive oil extra vergine, salt and pepper, obviously.
The sheep down below is from Podlasie, this is a region in eastern Poland. I have no ancestors from Podlasie, but I like to travel there. The image have been taken by Grażyna from the blog "I tu i tam", which I found very interesting one - travel and photo site.

Placek jeżynowy / Black raspberries cake

Pewnego dnia wracałam do domu i kupiłam takie jeżyny, z przeceny.
Once I was on my way back home I bought these blackberries, which had lowered price. This was the last box and, in addition, it looked like someone had been putting something on it, but nothing heavy. Looking quite good! Afterward, this cat has came to me, is much bigger than Claire- Genevieve, so I think that it was a male cat. When it comes to talk about his psyche, I must say, this cat was very nice and domesticated very much. He was snuggling up to me, although I had been carrying no meet nor fish in my shopping bag. I only said: " Hello, cat" and he stopped at this point, so I have stayed a little longer for taking a few images ...
Moja mama piekła często placek z mieszanki pszennej i ziemniaczanej mąki, pamiętam go z dzieciństwa.
On jest... rustykalny!
Tonight I had decided that I am baking a blackberries cake. I have one recipe, which gives two possibilities: you can choose wheat flour, or you can choose potato flour, as well. Thus, I have never been baking this cake before... I thought of potato flour, that I should give it a try! My mother had been baking a cake with some mix of potato flour and wheat flour, very often in my childhood. Otherwise, I never wanted to start with potato flour, due to is well known from making a cake too sandy and loose, isn't it. And this is true, what I know by now from my own experience! It was too sandy! The cake had been crumbling a lot, and it was really hard to cut it into pieces. Every cake made from potato flour is too loose! Thus, it's a rustic cake! If your cake is looking so-so you should name it rustic, what will pick up the prestige of the cake...

Nevertheless, this cake is quite tasty! I see, that the display is so-so, but the mix of ginger and blackberries I have found delicious. And you would add icing sugar on the top, but I did not. And by the way, I don't know whether blackberries are the same as black raspberries. I am short of time, so I don't study the issue. Maybe this is the same, but maybe in other countries the diversity of berries is bigger.
Składniki: 100 g masła lub margaryny, 160 g (2dl) cukru, 120 g (2dl) maki pszennej lub 160 g ziemniaczanej, 1 łyżeczka proszku do pieczenia, 1 łyżeczka cukru waniliowego, 2 jajka, 100- 150 g świeżych jeżyn lub mrożonych. cukier puder i melisa do dekoracji. Ewentualnie 1 łyżeczka imbiru do ciasta.
Ja używam teraz najczęściej cukru trzcinowego, więc tym razem też go dałam -dlatego ten placek jest taki ciemny. Masło mam zawsze klarowane, a proszek do pieczenia bio.
Ingredients: 100g butter or margarine, 160g ( 2dl) sugar, 120 (2dl) wheat flour or 160 potato flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar, 2 eggs, 100-150g blackberries fresh or frozen, icing sugar and a lemon balm as garnish. Eventually 1 teaspoon of ginger, added to the cake.
I am in the habit of using cane sugar, so I did it this time also- and this is the reason, why this cake is such dark. I use to use clarified butter and my baking powder is bio. I have not a lemon balm, and when I have decided that I will use ginger I give vanilla sugar up.
Wykonanie: Nastawić piekarnik na 175 stopni. Wysmarować tłuszczem i posypać tartą bułką formę o wymiarach około 24x24 cm.
Preparation: Preheat the oven for 175C. Grease the baking mould with butter and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs. Use a baking mould about 24x24cm. Melt the butter in a pot or in a microwave. Allow it to cool. Mix the butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar and eggs, until became smooth. If you use frozen berries, defrost it in a microwave. Put the cake to the baking mould and lay out the blackberries on the top. Bake it in the lower part of the oven about 25 minutes, until you will see that the cake does not stick to the baking mould. Cool it down with no removing from the baking mould. Than you would add icing sugar on top and some fresh leaves of lemon balm.
