Zakupy jedzeniowe part 1 / Foodie shopping part 1

Nowadays is getting colder, at least in Poland, so I have decided to start hoard some food, like many animals do... For example, squirrels, mice and birds. And it is in the two parts - the next in the next post.

1) Syropy z agawy  bio- jasny i ciemny / Bio agava syrups - light one and dark one:

Here we go with these syrups! The taste of it I have found... very vegetable. I quite like it. Especially this dark one is tasty. These are a little bit expensive, but, from the other side, what is not? I bought it, because I was anticipating  one person who is not allowed to eat sugar ( due to her health) and I had been looking for something instead of sugar. I knew, that she is accustomed to use agava syrup for tea. The result is I have been buying it for myself for some time...

2) Ciasteczka owsiane z czarnuszką, firmy Ania / Oats cookies with  fennel flower, from Polish brand "Ania":

These cookies are made with coconut oil and I tell you, that this combination: oat's flour, coconut oil and fannel flower is simply superby to me! I was making these mini sandwiches for myself, or I ate it plain. For sure I will repurchase these cookies!

sour cucumber, tuna, white creamy cheese

date tomato, tuna and "koryciński" cheese

In the Czech Republic they  make very good bio bars. I am talking about these, you see on the photo, but I have tried also another , and this for some next post. These are from Carrefour and here we have three tastes: apple, raspberry and apricot. ( Or this is peach, I don't remember).

Tak wygląda ten baton, czyli typowy crunchy z suszonymi owocami w kawałkach, z płatkami owsianymi i pszenicznymi. Bardzo smaczny!
It's how does it look, this is typical crunchy bar with dried fruits in a pieces and with oats and wheat flakes. So delicious!

4)  Dżem bio z borówki amerykańskiej / Bio american blueberry jam  :

No tutaj sytuacja się trochu komplikuje, bo właśnie... on sfermentował w lodówce!
Thus, this is complicated! You know, this jam did ferment in a refrigerator! It did ferment!!! And it was very pricey product, I don't remember well, it was 12 or 14 zł. It fermented very quickly! What can I say? If I will be an alcohol addict person, I will use it as a drink. But I am not... So I must throw it out! Nevertheless, it was tasty ( before), so maybe I will buy it once again, to give it a second chance... Maybe is better add it to some crepes or to the cake!

5) Mąka i ziarno z amarantusa/ Amaranth flour and seeds:

I have heard, that amaranth has the taste similar to a beetroot. But, frankly, it's not opened now, so I cannot say anything at the moment.

6) Quinoa mieszana/ Quinoa mix:
Quinoa can be black, white and bronze or red, and I purchased mix of these quinoas lately. I made a salad with it, along with walnuts, tomatoes and some other ingredients, but I forgot... And I also added this quinoa to my mushroom's soup - it was very tasty!

7) Coco Cool woda kokosowa/ Coco Cool coconut water:

Everything is all right, I drank it, but for the next time I will buy it in a plastic bottle. Maybe I am a bit freaky with that, but I always can taste a metal, something metallic in every can drinks I have ever tried. I don't like canned food and drinks overall. I think the best solution is a glass bottle, don't you?

8) Czekolada gorzka 90% firmy Wawel/ Polish chocolate 90% from "Wawel":

Most people have not been liking this kind of chocolate, but to be frank, I do. These are good also as a cake's ingredient, although I am in the habit of eating it plain.

10) Mała forma do pizzy / Pizza baking tin, small size:

I was really in the need of it, because I had only bigger size, for four persons. I am not always baking pizza for this number of people! It was very cheap, about 5 zł.

It was impossible to resist! I started eat it, and while I was eating, I thought I wanted to snap some pictures before! But it was too late... That's why it's opened. I have been buying these German yoghurts in Organic for two years and, from time to time, I have the impression that are more pricey than before.

Rapturous! Delicious!

12) Bio jogurt owczy cytrynowy/ Bio  sheep's yoghurt lemon:

Here we go with delicious sheep's yoghurt from France, which I am buying in Organic, but not often, because these are very expensive. The cost of one is about 5 zł. My favourite is  a lemon one.

13) Orzeszki ziemne bez soli i oleju / Peanuts roasted without salt and oil:

Peanuts roasted with no salt nor oil! I even prefer these, but my fav are in a shells. These shells are so pretty!

Na koniec jeszcze chciałam pokazać Wam takie amarantusy! Znalazłam je na Pintereście, i były też inne kolory, biały,  brązowy, jeszcze jakieś... Długie jak ten post!

Finally, I am going to show you these displays of the amaranths! I have found it on Pinterest, and I noticed other colours, like white, brown, and more... Long like this post!

  6. I see you bough a lot of healthy food products and that is great. That agava syrup looks interesting. I try to eat heathy too, I'm very careful about what I eat, especially since I was diagnoized with Chron.

    1. Actually I am fond of a wholesome food, and even despite of it's so heavy on the wallet! In Poland most of it is from Germany, truly very high quality product, but also rather pricey!!! So I must save on my clothes...
You know, many studies have shown that a stomache is our second mind. In other words, the more healthy food you eat, the more healthy you are, I mean also mentally!
Sorry you have some disease, hope you get well soon!

    2. I got used to Chron and I've always had good eating habits, so it is not difficult for me to watch out for what I eat...I agree with you. Food is important....and I think that what also matters is how we eat. We should enjoy our meals calmly...that makes our body more relax and better able to take advantage of all the nutrients we rpove it with.

One of the new things I introduced in my diet is coconut oil. I sometimes eat it on its own. I don't use it for frying because I don't try anyway, but it works well in desserts and even (as I said) on its own.

German products are often of good quality, but pricy...but as you said, eating healthy is an investment in our health. If we look at it that way, we can see why it makes sense to eat clean.

    3. That's right, I am always trying to eat calmly, you know, in lovely atmosphere, although Claire - Genevieve is annoying me still ( kidding). I never eat in a hurry... Coconut oil is simply superby, I also love it, but never had tried to eat it plain. In this way I usually drink walnut oil, which is also stunning added to a bath -versatile thing :-)
Here in Poland many people crave German products, like washing powders, chocolates, cars, cosmetics, although Polish products are often not worse. If it comes to organic food, I think , due to Germany is very rich country, there is much easier to sell expensive food, so much more brands are creating this market. I was wondering whether to start a bio shop, but I am aware it's very risky here, so I have not decided :)

    4. I'm sure that Polish products are often as good. I often buy Polish cosmetics, like face creams, nail polishes and etc. ( I can't remember any of the brands right now).

What you said about Germain being able to produce more organic food because of its economy is probably true...Still, I wonder if all that organic food is truly organic. I remember watching one German documentary where they showed a field and ask the viewer does he notice anything...I wonder what it could be because the field looked normal but then the host said there are no birds to be heard and that is beacause the soil in that part of Germany is full of pollution. Everything looks green and perfect, but the soil is full of pesticids.

      Delete
    5. Polish cosmetics I am buying from Inglot, Lirene, Dermika, Bielenda, Golden Rose, Celia, and more...

In Germany and at all in UE is serious protection of organic food. If it has the green leaf sign it's safe and truly bio. The problem with pesticides is the global problem! Thus, if the documentary was from Germany, it does mean, that there is possible to talk about the issue in the mainstream. That's what we need! We need to teach people that pesticides are dangerous...
So, is good to know where you might buy real organic products. And these will expensive! So do I... :D

Here in Poland, if you are interested in buying organic food or eco products, you have the wide selection of mostly German food. Those are very good, but also pricey, so I am happy, whenever I notice anything Polish :D
